Teacher Workshops

When the Civics Bus travels to a school, teachers and administrators are encouraged to participate in a 30 or 60 minute teacher workshop designed to introduce participants to C-SPAN Classroom, the network's FREE resource for teachers. Workshops are led by C-SPAN representatives and can be held before, after or during the school day.

***Depending on district requirements, participants may be able to use the workshop to qualify for professional development hours.

During the workshop, participants will learn...

  • how C-SPAN Classroom helps enhance civics and government content and by incorporating media and technology literacy.
  • about C-SPAN Classroom's library of short, downloadable, standards-based video clips and teacher resources.
  • how they can use C-SPAN Classroom's video clips and resources to help students learn about the Federal Government in action.
  • about StudentCam, C-SPAN Classroom's annual student video documentary contest.
  • how they can apply for C-SPAN Classroom's video grants and fellowship program.
